ResiLoop is a not-for-profit product stewardship scheme that is funded by leading suppliers of the resilient flooring industry. These members have joined us on our mission to enable a circular future for floorcoverings in Australia.
ResiLoop's scheme is authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission - Authorisation number: AA1000675. |

Our Ambition
|
FUNDINGThe Scheme is funded by a product levy applied to certain categories of resilient flooring products. The levy is intended to be passed through the value chain so that the end consumer will pay as part of the installed flooring price. The levy amount has been calculated to represent a very low cost impact for the consumer. |
GOVERNANCEResiLoop Limited is incorporated as a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee. ResiLoop's management and operations are governed by an elected Board of Directors and a Constitution. An Advisory Panel made up of industry experts provides advice to the Board on key strategic aspects of the scheme. |
MATERIAL COLLECTIONThe scheme collects particular classes of products, commencing with offcuts from Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), homogeneous (HO) sheet and non-textile backed heterogeneous (HE) sheet. ResiLoop intends to expand progressively to cover other types of resilient floorcoverings following investment in research and develop-ment of suitable end uses of the recyclates. |
As a producer responsibility scheme, ResiLoop's success depends on the commitment of those placing products on the Australian market to step up and acknowledge their role in investing in onshore solutions at scale to keep materials in use for as long as possible.
The vast majority of resilient flooring products are imported into Australia. They are durable, affordable products which deliver significant benefit over their use. However, suppliers' responsibilities don't stop at the point of sale. Ensuring their products remain in use for their expected life and can then be reused or recycled - ideally locally - is their responsibility. ResiLoop brings together major suppliers, Our Members, from the sector alongside a steadily expanding network of Associate Members, Collection Points. |
The scheme is now operational. Since September, 2024 ResiLoop has been delivering recovered material to its manufacturing partner, Think Manufacturing who use it to make new (non-flooring) products.
ResiLoop's R&D investment fund aims to develop additional end uses for the materials currently going to landfill. The focus remains on the future growth of the scheme - its contribution to the 2030 National Waste Policy Action Plan targets and its determination to drive a circular mindset in the floorcovering industry. |
